USS Michael Monsoor (DDG 1001) is the second ship of the Zumwalt class of guided missile destroyers.  Christened on June 18, 2016, the future USS Michael Monsoor will be one of the largest destroyers and most technologically advanced surface combatants in the world.

On January 26, 2019, in Coronado, California, the Commissioning Ceremony and events surrounding it will commemorate the legacy of Michael Monsoor and welcome the ship that bears his name into the active fleet of the United States Navy.
